Our founder
Subarna Mukherjee, known to her clients as Subi, spent twenty years inside a healthcare system she watched fail the people she cared for most. Shakti is her answer: a nurse who stays, who notices, and who refuses to let an elder fall through the cracks.

I am a bicultural nurse, and I have practiced community health from the grassroots of Honduras and India to the villages of Liberia. Everywhere I worked, the same truth held: the best outcomes come from someone who shows up, builds trust, and refuses to look away.
Back home in Georgia, across two decades in nursing and community health, one scene kept repeating. A family would do everything right and still get blindsided: a missed medication interaction, a small change no one flagged, a hospital discharge with no real plan. By the time anyone called it a crisis, it was already a crisis.
I became convinced that a nurse working alongside families in the home is a game changer for the quality of life and longevity of an elder. Not a call center. Not a binder of phone numbers. A clinician who knows your parent, watches the trend lines, and acts before the emergency. That conviction is now my mission: a model of care that brings nurses, family, and chosen caregivers together as one team, so good elder care is something a whole community can reach.
I am also a mother, a daughter, and a member of the sandwich generation. I know the guilt of being pulled in too many directions, and within my own South Asian community, the quiet belief that you should be doing all of this yourself. You should not have to. Bringing in a nurse is not failing your parent. It is loving them with a clear head.
When I am not innovating the future of aging, you will find me throwing punches at a heavy bag, out on a hiking trail with people I love, or chasing my spirited four-year-old son, Taal.

Shakti means energy, ability, strength, effort, and power over. It is the active force that moves a family from stuck to steady, from overwhelmed and powerless to in control. That sacred trust between nurse and client is the heart of everything we do.
The whole category defaults to soft reassurance. We would rather hand your family back its footing.
